Easter is here and that means getting out those eggs in your fridge for some decorating fun!
This is Carol from @carolicityletters over on Instagram, and I’m here to show you how to dress up your eggs using your Kassa chalk marker set! I’m a sucker for geometric designs, so I thought it’d be fun to incorporate it on our eggs for a fun, modern twist.
You may be thinking, “Wait, I don’t have those colors in my chalk marker set.” But you actually do! The bright vibrant colored markers can easily be turned into muted pastels by simply using the white marker over them to mute the colors down to your desired tone. I’ll show you how to do this in the video. Oh, and don’t worry about staining the tip of the white marker - it’s easily cleaned! You can wipe away the color, or touch the tip to the surface of the water to help get rid of the residue color.
To help achieve smooth transitions and a streak-free finish, I’ll be using a piece of sponge to stipple the colors on. The key is to dampen the sponge in some water, and then squeeze out as much water as you can. Make sure the sponge is just barely damp - excess water will dilute the colors too much!
With the above points in mind, let’s get started!
- Kassa Erasable 10 Marker Set
- Hard boiled eggs
- Washi or masking tape
- Small piece of sponge (any kind will do)
- A plastic plate or any nonporous surface
The video below will show you how it’s done!
Happy decorating and Happy Easter!
