Hey everyone! This is Hayley collaborating with Kassa to celebrate Dr. Seuss Day.
Happy Dr. Seuss Day! Growing up I always loved Dr. Seuss, I remember going to the Provo library with my Mom and my little sister almost every week and checking out stacks and stacks of his picture books and being overjoyed by the wonderful stories and illustrations. those library trips gave me a love for reading and illustration at a young age that has stuck with me throughout my life.
(If you have a spelling mistake like below, Kassa chalk markers are easy to erase 😉)
I feel strongly about the importance of reading to kids when their little, so I was so glad to be able to collaborate with Kassa to create this chalkboard quote using their Liquid Chalk Markers and chalkboard contact paper to say thanks to Dr. Seuss and to all the wonderful parents, teachers and others who take the time to read with kids. The fun happy neon colors of these chalk markers matched perfectly with the Dr. Seuss style, and I was able to turn an old picture frame into a chalkboard using the contact paper (which was amazing!) No matter who you are, you can make the difference in the life of a child by introducing them to great books and by reading to them. Thank you, Dr. Seuss!
Chalkboards are trendy right now, and I’ve tried many types of chalk markers, but these are by far my favorite. The colors are very opaque and bold, and they write smooth (which is the problem I have with most other kinds that don’t.) another cool feature of the markers is that the tip is reversible and comes with a bullet and chisel tip (I used bullet tip for this piece.) for more info on the markers, and a review video, see the links to the side.
The contact paper is AMAZING! I was able to take an old picture frame and have it turned into a chalkboard in less than two minutes. I was worried that it might not be as durable as a real chalkboard, but it held up perfectly! I made a spelling mistake while working on the chalkboard and had to do some erasing. The markers came off the surface cleanly and smoothly, and the paper was still as sturdy as ever.
