Hi Friends! It’s Renee with @thediyday here to share a project I created for a Memorial Day BBQ using Kassa’s Chalk Markers and Contact Paper. With Memorial Day just around the corner, let’s not forget the reason we observe this day, to honor the fallen soldiers.
So I'm honoring them with a patriotic BBQ bursting with red, white and blue!
Here's what you'll need for this project:
- - Star shape puncher
- - Red, white and blue Kassa Chalk Markers
- - Kassa Chalkboard Contact Paper
- - Mini Clothespins
- - Glue Gun
- - Patriotic paper serveware
First, I took Kassa's Chalkboard Contact Paper and punched out several stars using the star shape puncher. This contact paper is absolutely customizable and can turn any surface into a chalkboard.
Next I took these adorable stars and used my red, white, and blue Kassa Chalk Markers to decorate and label each one. First, I outlined each star with dots. Then I labeled each star with various foods that will be served at my Red, White and Blue Memorial Day BBQ.
I love the brightness of these chalk markers — they're perfect for themed holiday events. Also, they dry quickly and the pen tips are reversible (chisel and bullet point).
And lastly, I used my hot glue gun to glue mini clothespins to the back of each star and let them dry for a minute (Be careful with the glue gun if you're doing this project with kids.)
These food cards are the perfect addition for my patriotic BBQ! I can't wait for my guests to see. Happy Memorial Day, everyone!
