The chalkboard craze has been around for a while and is still growing. Peel and stick chalkboards are a big part of this phenomenon because they are so versatile. You can cut them to any shape or size you want. You can also apply them to almost any surface. It’s really easy and you can avoid any air bubbles by following the guide below.
Peel And Stick Chalkboard Application Instructions
- Make sure the surface you’re going to apply your peel and stick chalkboard on is smooth and flat. If it has bumps you can sand them down gently.
- Cut your chalkboard along the grid lines on the back to the size you need and set it aside.
- Clean the surface with a damp cloth. Make sure there is no dust on the it – the adhesive doesn’t hold well if you stick the chalkboard sticker on top of dust.
Grab the chalkboard and peel the backing paper off about an inch.
Stick a corner of the chalkboard to your surface. Make sure it’s straight then press down on the chalkboard gently.
Hold the peel and stick chalkboard at a 45 degree angle and start peeling the backing off. Simultaneously, press down on the chalkboard. Do this process inch by inch to make sure you avoid air bubbles.
If bubbling occurs, lift the bubbled part of the chalkboard paper and stick it down again. You can also push the air bubbles from the center towards the outside using your hands or with a squeegee or credit card.
