Vinyl Christmas Coffee Cup
Posted On
Hi I’m Alanna from @mrscraftyaf and what better way to get into the holiday season than with a festive coffee mug to start your day. It’s also a beginner friendly project for those just getting into vinyl crafts. Follow along as I add some holiday cheer to my morning coffee cup with some DIY decorations
Materials You'll Need
- Kassa adhesive vinyl
- Kassa transfer tape
- Weeding tool or tweezers
- Scissors
- Cutting machine
- Rubbing alcohol
- Coffee mug
Step 1
Pick your design and colors of Kassa vinyl you want to use
Step 2
Cut each color one at a time using the regular vinyl setting on your cutting machine
Step 3
Weed the negative space of your design
Step 4
Prep your cup by cleaning it with rubbing alcohol to remove any oils your fingers might have left. This will create a better bond for the vinyl.
Step 5
Cut the transfer tape bigger than your design. Pick up the design with kassa transfer tape and remove backing
Step 6
With scissors cut slits into the transfer tape around your vinyl decal. This will help when applying to a curved surface. The more curved of a surface the more important this step is. If applying to a flat surface then you can skip this step.
Step 7
Apply decal on to mug and push from centre outwards.
Step 8
Remove transfer tape and you’re done.
Now you can enjoy a nice cup of hot cocoa in your beautifully decorated holiday mug. You can even change it to a different design every year. If you use this tutorial to make your own DIY creations with the Kassa vinyl be sure tag @mrscraftyaf & @kassa or #kassamoment so we can see and spread the watercolor love!
